School & library visits

Both Jennifer and Rozillia love engaging with young readers in classrooms, libraries and other community events!
Visits can be tailored to your organization, but may include:

New: STEAM Program for “tweens” (ages 7-12)
Dr. Rosie’s Science of Helping Animals: Hands-On Program

This workshop will teach participants about natural treatments used to help animals. Participants will make their own hot/cold compresses, a working stethoscope, and aloe lotion. They will also learn how veterinarians stitch up cuts and use real veterinary instruments to take the vitals of a certified therapy dog.

Reading

Children will learn the background and context for the story of Dr. Rosie, and participate in an interactive reading with Jennifer and Rozillia.

Hands-on activities

Children will receive mini vet kits and treatment sheets. Jennifer and Rozillia will demonstrate how to use the kit and sheet to diagnose and treat a stuffed animal.  Alternatively, Jennifer and Rozillia can lead children through hands-on science experiments or art projects relating to the book.

Natural veterinary treatments

Children will learn about veterinary treatments and see samples containing salt water, aloe, and Manuka honey.

What else?

Children should bring their own stuffed animals. Mini stuffed animals will be provided for those who do not have any. There will be a limit of 30 kits. More than 30 children may attend, but kits are limited.

Book signing

Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase. Proceeds are directed to a veterinary scholarship fund.
